After graduating from the law school at the University of Minnesota, I served as a state prosecutor for felony trials for five years. In 1980 I opened my own law office in Burnsville. My practice includes several areas of law that affect people in their every day lives.
It is important for you to feel comfortable whenever you are selecting someone to perform professional services. In our initial meeting you will have the opportunity to meet me without having any pressure to make an immediate decision about retaining me to represent you. You will also have the opportunity to obtain basic information about the nature of the legal process, what you should expect an attorney to do, how attorney's fees are determined, and other general information.
During my years in the practice of law I have served as the attorney for a non-profit organization, as a speaker at continuing legal education seminars, as a member of the board of directors of our local parish, as a member of the board of directors of our local chamber of commerce, and as a coach for all of our daughters' softball teams.
All of these experiences have been valuable for their own sake as well as for providing perspective on effective methods of working with people to resolve issues. I use that experience and knowledge whenever I undertake to represent a client on a legal matter.
I am a member of the bar of the Minnesota Supreme Court, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court.
